Biostatistics is the basic science of Public Health that is used as method to study population issues. Department of Biostatistics and Population Studies provides three scientific fields: Biostatistics, Health Informatics, and Population Studies.
Department of Biostatistics and Population Studies now provides Bachelor of Science in Public Health Program and Master of Public Health Program. Majors of the Bachelor Program consist of Biostatistics, Health Informatics and Health Information Management. Meanwhile, specializations of Master Program consist of Biostatistics and Health Informatics.
In education administration, Department of Biostatistics and Population Studies Faculty of Public Health Universitas Indonesia is supported by 17 academic staff with various expertise. Academic staff at Department of Biostatistics and Population Studies have developed research published in national and international journals and are credible to take many positions in both Universitas Indonesia internal environment and other organizations.

Mission:
- To provide experts in biostatistics and population studies that are reliable and capable of making productive collaboration to improve quality and productivity of research in Universitas Indonesia and its work partners.
- To hold qualified biostatistics and population studies education for students, faculty and professionals in the field of public health.
- To participate in innovative research for development of science, methodology and application of biostatistics and population studies that are useful for the nation development.
