Dean of the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI), Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., was honored to be one of the panelists at the XV National Congress – Annual Scientific Forum (FIT) VIII Indonesian Association of Public Health Experts (IAKMI). Held in Pekanbaru on 24-26 November 2022, this event raised the theme “Transformation of the Health System Towards Universal Health Coverage in 2030”.
Prof. Mondastri was one of the panelists at plenary 4, which raised the topic of discussion “Strengthening the Resilience of the National Defense System”. Prof. Mondastri, also attended by 3 other panelists from the Director General of P2P of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Dr. dr. Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, DHSM., M.A.R.S.; CISDI Founder and CEO, Diah Saminarsih, M.Sc .; and General Chairperson of Gakeslab, Drs. H. Sugihadi H.W., M.M.
Presenting material entitled “Community-Based Surveillance as the Main Strategy for Health System Resilience”, Prof. Mondastri focuses on the objectives, types and good practices of public health-based surveillance. It stated that the objectives of public health-based surveillance were for epidemic/outbreak/outbreak detection and early warning, trend and spatial analysis, risk detection, monitoring of health system performance, evaluation of control efforts, analysis and recommendations of policies and programs, and formulation of hypotheses. “Accurate information from public health based surveillance is needed for adequate action. Accurate information for adequate action,” said Prof. Mondastri in the presentation of the material.
In a forum that aims to examine scientific aspects and the current situation of national public health problems, the Dean of FPH UI, contributes material that can provide insight and input for health system resilience strategies.
This forum is a series of IAKMI Konas activities held once a year as a vehicle for scientific discussion and sharing of research results/experiences from practitioners and public health observers from academics, executive, legislative, private sector, and all IAKMI members in the country. (wrk)
