On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, the Faculty of Public Health Universitas Indonesia/FKM UI educational staff attended a joint discussion titled “We Listen” with the Educational Staff Element of Universitas Indonesia Board of Trustees/MWA UI, Luluk Tri Wulandari, S.S., M.Hum at the PA209 Meeting Room, UI Health Sciences Cluster Building.
The FKM UI Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration, Dr. Milla Herdayati, S.K.M., M.Sc., delivered an opening remark before the discussion started. “This event should be welcomed well, as hopefully this event will provide benefits for all of us. By the MWA visit, especially to provide an explanation on the UI statute, namely PP 75 of 2021, we would like to know which part of the educational staff’s role is in the new statute,” said Dr. Milla in her remark. In addition, there was also the FKM UI Deputy General Manager, Lilis Komariyah, MARS who welcomed and moderated the discussion. The discussion that was followed by the FKM UI sub-unit coordinators and their representative staff took place dynamically.
UI statutes, referring to explanation by Luluk, are basic rules for management at UI that are used as the basis for drafting operational regulations and procedures at the university. The statute contained in the Government Regulation Number 75 of 2021 replaces the prior rule, PP Number 68 of 2013. “There are many discussions on students and academic activities in this UI statute, while there are few articles on manpower. However, I will highlight the manpower and how our role is at UI,” said Luluk.
In the following discussion, Luluk explained differences in articles related to manpower in the old and the new statute. Besides, Luluk also invited to jointly submit proposals for what should be good practice for manpower at UI, which include the implementation of comprehensive regulations from recruitment to retirement, that recruitment is recommended to prioritize non-permanent staff who have served for a long time, clarity for career paths and positions, and budget integration to fulfill basic rights of the educational staff.
