Monday, 14 November 2022, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) again received a study visit from high school (SMA) students. As many as 170 students from SMA Negeri 17 Palembang attended the Doctoral Promotion Room at FPH UI to receive information about public health science. This visit was received by the Academic Manager of FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M.
Also present were the Secretary of the FPH UI Nutrition Study Program, Wahyu Kurnia Yusrin Putra, S.K.M., M.K.M., and Teaching Staff of the Department of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) FPH UI, Abdul Kadir, S.K.M., M.Sc. In the material presentation session, Dr. Laila Fitria explained about the general profile of FPH UI such as location, student body, departments and study programs owned, job prospects for graduates, scholarships, student achievements, and facilities. Meanwhile, the Secretary of the FPH UI Nutrition Study Program, Wahyu Kurnia Yusrin Putra, S.K.M., M.K.M., explained information about the Undergraduate Nutrition Study Program which was carried out by approaching the daily activities of visiting participants. The Secretary of the FPH UI Nutrition Study Program started the presentation with questions about the daily nutritional intake of the visiting participants, what food and drinks were consumed, breakfast habits and exercise. This is related to the curriculum studied in the FPH UI Nutrition Undergraduate Study Program. In the OHS Undergraduate Study Program, Abdul Kadir, M.Sc., explained a lot about the scope of OHS science, the learning curriculum and practicum and field learning practices carried out by FPH UI students. Apart from that, Abdul Kadir also explained the achievements of OHS students that have been achieved in the last few years.
The visiting participants enthusiastically provided various questions and responses related to the material presented by the resource persons. FPH UI hopes to provide new insights that are useful for visiting participants, especially those related to public health science. (wrk)
