Wednesday, 3 May 2023, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) held an online meeting with the Institute of Medical Epidemiology, Biometrics, and Informatics (IMEBI), Interdisciplinary Center for Health Sciences, Medical School of the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. The purpose of holding the meeting is to discuss collaboration plans that can be carried out between FPH UI and IMEBI Martin Luther University. Present at the meeting was the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc.; Cooperation Manager, Alumni and Venture Relations, Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D.; Head of the Department of Epidemiology, Prof. dr. Asri C. Adisasmita, M.P.H., M.Phil., Ph.D.; Secretary of the Department of Epidemiology, Trisari Anggondowati, S.K.M., M.Epid., Ph.D.; Director of IMEBI, Prof. Rafael Mikolajczyk; Professor of IMEBI, Prof. Eva Kantelhardt; as well as a lecturer from IMEBI, Dr. Eric Crober. The meeting was moderated by drg. Dwi Gayatri, M.P.H., Ph.D., with Lecturer Facilitator from Department of Epidemiology, Putri Youngest, S.K.M., M.Epid.
“There are many interesting collaborations that IMEBI can do with FPH UI,” said Prof. Rafael Mikolajczyk. From the results of the discussion, there are several collaboration options that will be carried out, namely submitting joint proposals for research and community service activities, holding public lectures at FPH UI which will be filled in by IMEBI lecturers, and supporting FPH UI students to be able to continue their studies in Germany.
“IMEBI has also made a community service project in Ethiopia that focuses on handling non-communicable diseases. We can also carry out a similar project in Jakarta, of course in collaboration with FPH UI,” said Prof. Eva Kantelhardt.
FPH UI and IMEBI plan to hold a follow-up meeting to further discuss this collaboration plan. It is hoped that the collaboration that will be carried out will bring many benefits to FPH UI, IMEBI Martin Luther University, as well as to the public. (WR)
