Friday, June 17, 2022, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) held an open session of doctoral promotion on behalf of Erlina Wijayanti. This session was chaired by Prof. dr. Kemal N. Siregar, S.K.M., M.A., Ph.D., with dr. Adang Bachtiar, M.P.H., D.Sc., as the promoter, Prof. dr. Anhari Achadi, S.K.M., Sc.D., and Dr. Ummi Azizah Rachmawati, S.Kom., M.Kom., as co-promoter. The test team consists of Prof. dr. Amal Chalik Sjaaf, S.K.M., Dr.PH; Dr. Besral, S.K.M., M.Sc.; Dr. drs. Tris Eryando, M.A.; Dr. dr. Dhanasari Vidiawati Sanyoto, Sp.KKLP., M.Sc.CM-FM., FISPH., FISCM, and Dr. dr. Trihono, M.Sc. In this online trial, Erlina defended her dissertation with the title “Development of the ERLINA Application to Avoid Medication Errors in Tuberculosis Patients in DKI Jakarta”.
The success rate of TB treatment in DKI Jakarta has not yet reached 90%. Obstacles in monitoring medical safety due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the increasingly widespread use of smartphone-based technology, have prompted Erlina Wijayanti to research and develop the ERLINA Application (e-Empowerment Resource for Lowering Ignorance and Negligence Action in therapy). This application is useful for improving the safety of medication with indicators of regularly taking medication, rechecking sputum, and receiving adequate medication side effects. This application can be used by patients and staff.
This research was conducted by Erlina using an operational research design. Starting with a qualitative method to explore variables that affect medication safety, then build a quantitative predictive model of medication safety. The predictors of medication safety were knowledge, smoking, income, and patient-officer communication. The next stage is to develop an intervention model as part of developing the ERLINA application. Specific interventions were carried out on patients who had less knowledge, had a smoking habit, and had an income above the Provincial Minimum Wage. In addition, all patients using this application will benefit by getting reminders, recommendations for patients who experience drug side effects, health progress records, and education from officers. Officers can also monitor patient treatment in real time and remotely. In the final stage, the application user response assessment was carried out and excellent results were obtained based on the user experience assessment by the patient. The officer’s assessment stated that the application was classified as a Net Promoter Score Star (score 100%).
The ERLINA application received a positive response from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office is ready to collaborate to include Tuberculosis content so that it enriches the Pedulilindungi application. This collaboration will be accommodated through the Jaksehat Application and DTO (Digital Transformation Office).

Based on the results of her research, Erlina Wijayanti successfully passed and became a Doctor in the field of Public Health Sciences. Erlina is the 6th graduate of Doctor of Public Health in 2022, the 260th graduate of Doctor of Public Health, and the 35th graduate of Doctoral Program of FPH UI.
