Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) receives visits from high school students who want to know more about public health science, and especially undergraduate study programs. On Thursday, October 20, 2022, FPH UI again welcomed a visiting study from SMA Global Islamic School (GIS) 2, Serpong. The visit received in the Doctoral Promotion Room was attended by 89 students and 7 supervising teachers.
Present as speakers from FPH UI were Academic Manager, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M.; Secretary of the Department of Nutrition, Ir. Siti Arifah Pujonarti, M.P.H.; and Lecturer of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (OHS), Abdul Kadir, S.K.M., M.Sc.
Doctor Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., gave a presentation on general information about study programs and departments in the faculty of public health, learning curriculum, graduate competencies and entry points for new student admissions at UI. Doctor Laila, in particular, also explained about the Bachelor of Public Health and the Bachelor of Environmental Health . In addition, Ir. Siti Arifah Pujonarti, M.P.H., delivered material about the Bachelor of Nutrition, including the latest issues related to nutrition. Finally, Abdul Kadir, S.K.M., M.Sc., introduced the Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety which is the youngest bachelor program at FPH UI. In addition to the material presented, the students also actively asked questions, including those related to the job prospects of graduates and explanations related to the Bachelor of Nutrition.
The acceptance of the visit was completed with an introduction to the facilities on the FPH UI campus guided by BEM FPH UI. FPH UI hopes that this study visit can help students and teachers understand more closely the science of public health and facilitate prospective students in determining the choice of majors in college later.
