On Friday, 11 November 2022, the Undergraduate Nutrition Study Program, Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) received a study visit from the Nutrition Study Program, Faculty of Nursing and Health, University of Muhammadiyah Semarang (UMS). Accepted in Hall A of FPH UI, the visiting participants consisted of 182 students and 15 assistants consisting of lecturers and educational staff from UMS.
Present from FPH UI to welcome the visiting participants was the General Manager, Dr. Martya Rahmaniati Makful, S.Si., M.Si; Head of Nutrition Undergraduate Study Program, Dr. Ir. Diah Mulyawati Utari, M. Kes.; and two students from the Bachelor of Nutrition Study Program who are also administrators of the Nutrition Family Association (AKG) student organization, Bayu and Fanny. In his remarks, the General Manager of FPH UI said that FPH UI was flattered to have a visit from Semarang. “Hopefully FPH UI can provide a welcome and information that is in accordance with the expectations of Semarang Muhammadiyah University colleagues,” added Dr. Martya.
Doctor Diah then conveyed information according to requests from visiting participants, namely information about the FPH UI Nutrition Study Program. In the material Dr. Diah conveyed several things related to the history of the study program, vision and mission, accreditation owned, curriculum structure, scientific domains, graduate job prospects, learning approaches, soft skills, practicum, and student activities. “Since its establishment in 2008, the FPH UI Nutrition Undergraduate Study Program has implemented Student Centered Learning with a Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach which is a benchmark result for various domestic and foreign institutions such as UNPAD, UGM, UMJ, University of Queensland, Maastricht University, and Wageningen University,” said Dr. Diah explained a little about the history of learning methods applied in the FPH UI Nutrition Undergraduate Study Program. Doctor Diah also added that apart from having national accreditation from LAMPT-Kes, the FPH UI Nutrition Study Program has also been internationally accredited, namely from the Asean University Network-Quality Assurance International Accreditation Institute (AUN-QA) with the title “Better than Adequate”.
In addition to presentations on academic information, visiting participants also received information regarding student activities and organizations, especially the Nutrition Family Association (AKG) from Bayu and Fanny. Some of the things that were explained included membership of AKG, work programs, as well as some of its leading activities such as a nutrition expo and community service. (wrk)
