On 20-21 August 2022, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) of the University of Indonesia (UI) conducted an Introduction to the Faculty Academic System (PSAF) for new students of the 2022 Extension Program with the theme “Beyond Public Health”. This activity is a continuation of the Pre-PSAF event which was previously held on August 14, 2022 through the Zoom Meeting platform.
The purpose of this PSAF activity is to introduce the academic system, culture, and learning environment of FPH UI to new students of the Extension Program in 2022. Extension students are students who have studied at the Diploma-III level and then continue to the S-1 level. In addition, extension students come from professional, cultural, and environmental backgrounds as well as various ages and the academic system applied during the Diploma-III program is certainly different from the academic system in the extension program at FPH UI.
The series of PSAF activities on the first day consisted of Curriculum Socialization and Independent Learning on an Independent Campus by the Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, FPH UI, Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc., Socialization of the Academic System by the Education Manager of FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.KM, M.KM., Student Socialization by the Student Manager, Dien Anshari, S.Sos., M.Sc., Ph.D., Socialization of the Integrity Zone by the Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures, and Administration General, Dr. Milla Herdayati, S.K.M., M.Sc., Financial Unit Socialization by Finance Subunit Coordinator Ahmad Sinrang Pawicangi, S.E., IT Socialization by Information Technology Subunit Coordinator, Eddy Afriansyah, S.Kom., M.Si., and Literature Search Socialization by Coordinator Center for Public Health Information, Fikri Wijaya, S.Sos.
On the second day of PSAF, a seminar on preventing radicalism was held on campus by Mayndra Eka Wardhana. “Radicalism is an idea to replace an ideology that is already sovereign, therefore, to avoid it, we must jointly agree that Pancasila is the only philosophy that is upheld,” said Mayndra. Furthermore, Qaishum Masturoh explained about the mental health of students and Lidwina Inge Nurtjahyo explained the discussion about preventing sexual harassment and violence on campus.
This PSAF with a diverse debriefing agenda is expected to be useful for new students of the 2022 Extension Program in fostering a sense of togetherness, and being adaptive to start their education at FPH UI. (AHS)
