Defriman Djafri, SKM, MKM, PhD

Defriman Djafri is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health at Universitas Andalas. This university is a public research university in Padang, West Sumatra. Universitas Andalas is one of the major public institutions of higher learning in Indonesia, and the oldest outside the island of Java. The university is well-known because of their achievements in the social sciences and medical programs.

Defriman Djafri earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health, where he majored in Environmental Health at the Faculty of Public Health at Universitas Indonesia in 2004. He then continued his studies and received his Master of Public Health degree in Environmental Epidemiology also from the Faculty of Public Health at Universitas Indonesia in 2007. Attending a summer school in Public Health Studies held by the Harvard School of Public Health in 2012 only broadened his knowledge on public health and certainly helped him get to where he is now. Under his belt, he has the Korean Young Scholar Award he got in October 2011 and also the Young Investigator Award that is given to him by the 43rd Asia-pacific Academic Consortium on Public Health (APACPH). His area of ​​expertise includes epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, and environmental epidemiology.
