The Universitas Indonesia already provided and facilitated websites for open course activities such as webinars that are organized by both the faculty and study programs that can be accessed by the general public for free as part of information dissemination and community service. The Faculty of Public Health often held public events such as public lectures and community educational events to support lifelong learning. In 2021, there are three major events being held:

1. Community Development Event (FKM UI Peduli). The purpose of this event is to facilitate students of the University of Indonesia to perform community service by directly visiting villages that have health problems, to increase health knowledge of the villagers, and to help solve health problems in the target village. The target of this event are the villagers, helper of the village, and chief of the village.

2. Public Health Lectures. The purpose of this event is to educate the public regarding health issues around us. The Faculty of Public Health has a long history of public lectures given by experts in the health field. In 2021, the topics given during the Public Health Lectures are mostly about Health Promotion in the Workplace, Strategies for Accelerating the Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic in Indonesia, and Public Health Implementation in the New Normal Era.

3. Public Health Online Seminars. The purpose of this event is to provide discussion forums and to educate the public regarding health issues around us. In 2021, the Faculty of Public Health consistently held 55 online seminars with a wide variety of topics related to public health.

The Faculty of Public Health also hosts events such as short courses and skill development programs that are open to the public, specifically for those who are not attending university. In 2021, there are four major events being held:

1. Skill Development Program. It’s a series of events that facilitates soft skill development, such as time management, how to start investing, and how to optimize personal branding.

2. Job Preparation Program. It’s a series of events that helps students who are graduating on how to prepare for entering the workforce. The program consists of mini events such as CV writing, job interview preparation, and how to improve your LinkedIn profile to get noticed by recruiters.

3. Public Health Career Talk. It’s a talk show event that helps students who are still confused about what to do after graduation or want to know more about post-campus life. Through this event, students can talk about their concerns with graduates from the Faculty of Public Health who have experienced the professional world and post-campus life.

4. Career and Scholarship Webinar. It’s a series of events that facilitates students who wish to know more about the workforce and scholarship opportunities to continue their study. This event is held by collaborating with the Directorate of Graduate Career Development and Alumni Relations of Universitas Indonesia.

5. Organizing the 11th APRU Population Aging Virtual Conference with the theme “Challenge & Resilience Related to Aging Population: Surviving and Thriving towards Successful Aging” on 7-8 April 2021. With 15 speakers from 7 countries, 81 participants from 11 countries, and 171 attendees from 20 countries, we focus on defining, measuring and improving resilience in older adults in the age of longevity.

6. Public Health Online Seminars. The purpose of this event is to provide discussion forums and to educate the public regarding health issues around us. In 2021, the Faculty of Public Health consistently held 55 online seminars with a wide variety of topics related to public health.

The Faculty of Public Health often held education outreach events beyond campus that includes voluntary student-run schemes. In 2021, there are four major events being held:

1. Interprofessional Social Services (ISS) held by the Postgraduate Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Pascasarjana). The purpose of this event is to give services related to the social and public health promotion and prevention issues with appropriate facilities. ISS is held in a form of charity and is divided into three main activities:

– Field survey to an Islamic Boarding School Asshiddiqiyah in West Jakarta by the Community Service team.
– Handing in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from funds collected by the Student Association from donors. PPE consists of masks, hand sanitizer, and face shield.
– Webinar with the theme The Role of the COVID-19 Task Force in Empowering Islamic Boarding Schools.

2. Rumah Belajar Anak dan Kakak Asuh (Study Home For Children and Foster Siblings). The purpose of this event is to facilitate students of the Faculty of Public Health in implementing the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi and to empower residents of the research area to be able to solve educational, economic, and environmental health issues surrounding the area. The target of this event are students of the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia and residents of the research area.

3. Bakti Sosial Pas OKK (Social Service During OKK). The purpose of this event is to foster a sense of care for newly enrolled undergraduate students of the Faculty of Public Health by giving them hands-on experience related to social and health issues in their surroundings so they can solve existing problems. The target of this event are newly enrolled undergraduate students of the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia.

4. Community Development Event (FKM UI Peduli). The purpose of this event is to facilitate students of the University of Indonesia to perform community service by directly visiting villages that have health problems, to increase health knowledge of the villagers, and to help solve health problems in the target village. The Universitas Indonesia has a policy called Penyelenggaraan Program Sarjana di Universitas Indonesia (Implementation of the Undergraduate Program at the Universitas Indonesia) approved by the University’s Rector in 2016 through Peraturan Rektor Universitas Indonesia Nomor 014 tahun 2016 tentang Penyelenggaraan Program Sarjana di Universitas Indonesia (Regulation of the Rector of the Universitas Indonesia Number 014 of 2016 concerning the Implementation of the Undergraduate Program at the Universitas Indonesia).

Through the regulation, the Rector of Universitas Indonesia regulates the implementation of undergraduate programs in the form of Regular Class, Parallel Class, Extension Class, and International Class. The Parallel and Extension Class exist with the aim of expanding access to higher education at the Universitas Indonesia and to support lifelong education. Currently, the Faculty of Public Health opens student admissions for the Regular Class (proof attached in supporting evidence). Moreover, students that previously possessed a Diploma degree are accommodated by the university to continue their study through the Extension Class in order to support lifelong education.
