The Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia is the oldest Public Health Institution in Indonesia. The faculty is established through the initiative of Doctor Mochtar, who was Head of the Department of Public Health and Medical Community from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. Currently, the Faculty of Public Health provides Bachelor, Master’s, and Doctoral Programs and has 12 study centers, 7 departments, and 2 study groups.
To obtain a Bachelor Degree from the Faculty of Public Health, students are required to complete an internship program for a minimum of 136 hours (approximately 3 weeks and 2 days). The internship program has a weight of 3 credits and students can start their internship program in the 7th or 8th semester. Through the internship program, the Faculty of Public Health is giving students the chance to be more exposed to the Public Health situation in Indonesia. Students will be challenged to apply knowledge and skills they have acquired during lectures, thus improving their soft skills such as team work, leadership, and problem solving.
