PT Pertamina Refinery Unit II Dumai (PT Pertamina RU II Dumai) is a company that focuses on oil production. It started its operation in 1971 in the area of Sungai Pakning, Dumai, Riau. Since the company first operated, various products of fuel oil and non-fuel oil have been produced from the Putri Tujuh Dumai refinery and have been distributed to various corners of the country and overseas. For fuel oil, the company produces aviation turbine fuel, fuel oil, diesel oil, and kerosene. While for the non-fuel oil, the company produces solvent, green coke, and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG).
It is very common for students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia to participate in an internship program in a factory setting, specifically those who majored in Occupational Health and Safety and those who majored in Environmental Health. However in 2021, there was only one student from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia who participated as an intern for three months at PT Pertamina Refinery Unit II Dumai. During the internship period, the student was assigned to assist in safety inspection, safety and hygiene induction, as well as monitoring daily emission levels from the Refinery Unit.
