PT Petrokimia Gresik (PT Petrokimia) is a company that produces various kinds of fertilizers and chemicals for agro-industrial solutions in Indonesia. Founded in 1964, it’s main factory is located in Gresik Regency, East Java. As a State-Owned Enterprise, the company believes that Human Resource development is one of the top priority to support Indonesia’s talent development. As a result, the company took the initiative to hold three internship programs for students across Indonesia in collaboration with Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Education, as well as Human Capital Forum.
For the internship period in 2021, the company invites 98 college students from prestigious universities including Universitas Indonesia. Among the 98 participants of the internship program, there were two students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia. During their internship period, students from the Faculty of Public Health learned about ISO 14001:2015 about the Environment Management System which is implemented by PT Petrokimia to keep a quality environment and prevent pollution. Other than the Environment Management System, students also learned about Environmental Conservation / Biodiversity around the factory.
