Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat (Puskesmas) is a Community Health Center operated by the government and staffed by a group of general practitioners and nurses. Typically, a Community Health Center focuses on providing healthcare services to people in a certain area. In this case, Puskesmas Bogor Selatan is focusing on providing healthcare services to people who live in the Batutulis Village. Healthcare services provided by Puskesmas Bogor Selatan are general care, dental care, nutritional care, and maternity care.
It is very common for students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia to participate in an internship program held by a Community Health Center. In 2021, there were 19 students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia who participated as an intern for three months at Puskesmas Bogor Selatan. During the internship period, the students who majored in Nutritional Science were assigned to assist the Nutrition Counselor to prepare meal plans for patients, measuring the appropriate nutritional intake for patients, and to join the Nutrition Counselor during patients visit.
