Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat (Puskesmas) is a Community Health Center operated by the government and staffed by a group of general practitioners and nurses. Typically, a Community Health Center focuses on providing healthcare services to people in a certain area. In this case, Puskesmas Kecamatan Jagakarsa is focusing on providing healthcare services to people who live in the Jagakarsa Regency. Healthcare services provided by Puskesmas Kecamatan Jagakarsa are general care, dental care, and maternity care.
It is very common for students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia to participate in an internship program held by a Community Health Center. However in 2021, there was only one student from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia who participated as an intern for three months at Puskesmas Kecamatan Jagakarsa. During the internship period, the student was given the opportunity to gain firsthand experience of the epidemiology surveillance implementation, biostatistics analysis, and health promotion to improve their skills.
