To welcome the holy month of Ramadan, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) held a Ramadan Tarhib which was attended by the leadership and all FKM UI members. The Tarhib with the theme “Ramadan: Growing a Clean and Serving Bureaucracy” was held offline in Hall A of FKM UI on Monday, March 20, 2023. “Ramadan is a gift and a gift from Allah to us. Hopefully, with the presence of Tarhib Ramadan, we can better prepare ourselves to welcome the holy month of Ramadan,” said the Dean of FKM UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc. in his speech.
Present as a speaker, Dr. Moch. Bukhori Muslim, Lc. M.A., Deputy Chairman of the Central Indonesian Ulema Council Study Commission and Lecturer at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta. Doctor Moch. Bukhori opened his material by explaining the law of fasting. In the Al-Quran it is stated that fasting is an obligation for a Muslim. Apart from fasting, Allah also commands people to work. If we look at the stories of the previous prophets, they not only worship but also work. Therefore, working and fasting are of the same degree, both are obligatory to carry out. Don’t let fasting cause you to be lazy to work,” explained Dr. Moch. Bukhari Muslim.
Dr. Moch. Bukhori also explained the strategies that can be implemented to strengthen the bureaucracy. According to him, the bureaucracy is a collective work that must be done together. For this reason, a strategy to strengthen the bureaucracy can be started from planning to monitoring, all of which are carried out in congregation. “Ramadan is the month of jihad. In the past, Rasulullah continued to fight even though he was fasting. As Muslims, we also must keep working and serving during this month of Ramadan,” added Dr. Moch. Bukhari Muslim. The event was then closed with a group photo and shaking hands.
Happy fasting for all FKM UI members. May this month of Ramadan bring many blessings to all. (WR)
