PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk (PT Indocement) is an Indonesian company that focuses on the industrial sector, mining and excavation, trading, transportation, electrical installation, water and waste management as well as processing, building construction, and services. As a large company in Indonesia, PT Indocement views Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as an integral part in achieving business sustainability and as a community risk mitigation effort by upholding business accountability to the surrounding communities as well as other stakeholders.
One of PT Indocement’s CSR programs is Community Development by providing students from local universities the chance to participate in internships within the company’s factories. In 2021, there were three students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia who had the opportunity to participate as interns for three months. During the internship period, students are given the opportunity to participate in an OHS Training that aims to harmonize the understanding of PT Indocement’s safety culture including the principles, guidelines, and safety procedures. Students were also given the opportunity to learn about the waste management system and health inspection program that existed in the company.
