PT Ohgishi Indonesia is established in Bekasi as a subsidiary company of Ohgishi Industry Co. Ltd in Japan that is engaged in the field of manufacturing heavy equipment components and steel construction products, such as electrical transformer frames, high-speed train chassis, and other heavy steel products. PT Ohgishi Indonesia owns a factory in a huge area consisting of several fabrication plants for each component, painting and blasting area, and Wastewater Treatment Plant.
It is very common for students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia to participate in an internship program in a factory setting, specifically those who majored in Occupational Health and Safety. However in 2021, there was only one student from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia who participated as an intern for three months at PT Ohgishi Indonesia’s factory. During the internship period, the student was assigned to conduct safety training, safety inspection and safety induction, as well as planning a risk management plan for the company’s latest project.
