Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat (Puskesmas) is a Community Health Center operated by the government and staffed by a group of general practitioners and nurses. Typically, a Community Health Center focuses on providing healthcare services to people in a certain area. In this case, Puskesmas Kecamatan Pademangan is focusing on providing healthcare services to people who live in the Pademangan Regency. Healthcare services provided by Puskesmas Kecamatan Pademangan are general care, dental care, and maternity care.
It is very common for students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia to participate in an internship program held by a Community Health Center. In 2021, there were two students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia who participated as interns for three months at Puskesmas Kecamatan Pademangan. During the internship period, students were given the opportunity to gain firsthand experience of the epidemiology surveillance implementation, biostatistics analysis, and health promotion. Apart from that, students were also encouraged to improve their soft skills through a series of training provided by Puskesmas Kecamatan Pademangan.
