The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) is holding an Introduction to the Faculty Academic System (PSAF) to welcome and introduce FPH UI to new students of the FPH UI Regular Undergraduate Study Program Class of 2022. PSAF is held for two (2) days, Friday -Saturday, 19-20 August 2022.
The first day of PSAF opened with a report by Karl Dalton from the 2020 Public Health Regular Undergraduate Program Officer, Campus Life Orientation (OKK) Student Association (IM) FPH UI Project Officer. The event continued with remarks by the Head of the FPH UI Student Representative Assembly (MPM), Natasya Oktifia, from the 2019 Public Health Regular Undergraduate Program. The Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., Deputy Deans, Managers and Coordinators of related units attended PSAF. The Dean enthusiastically welcomed the arrival of the new FPH UI family member, “Hopefully younger students can maintain the spirit of learning and developing themselves, both academically and non-academically. We can learn here that it is a gift from God. This becomes a mandate so that later we can apply the knowledge we have,” said Prof. Mondastri to new students.
The series of PSAF activities consist of several seminars. The first seminar was opened by Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc., Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs at FPH UI, who brought the theme of Curriculum Socialization and MBKM (Free to Learn Independent Campus) Undergraduate Program. Doctor Asih explained independent campus learning, the Semester Credit Unit (SKS) transfer system, the Center for Independent Learning unit at the Universitas Indonesia, and other learning curricula.
Apart from the seminar, there was also socialization on the construction of the Integrity Zone, WBBM (Clean Serving Bureaucratic Area), which is being carried out by FPH UI, and socialization of the Pocket Book for Students which Dr. Milla Herdayati presented, S.K.M., M.Sc., Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration. Doctor Milla explained FPH UI’s commitment to realizing WBK (Corruption Free Areas) and WBBM. In addition, Dr. Milla also explained information technology that students and the FPH UI Faculty Service Unit (ULF) would often use.
Another topic of discussion was delivered by Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., Academic Manager, who discussed the academic status of students. Student Affairs Manager Dien Anshari, S.Sos., M.Sc., Ph.D., and Fitrya Nuraini, S.K.M., FPH UI Student Affairs Sub Unit Coordinator, also delivered material about student affairs.
Furthermore, Eddy Afriansyah, S.Kom, M.Sc., Coordinator of the IT Subunit, explained UI hotspots, SIAK-NG (Academic Information System – Next Generation) UI, and EMAS (E-Learning Management System) UI. The seminar’s first session was closed with a presentation by the Coordinator of the Public Health Information Center Subunit FPH UI, Fikri Wijaya, S.Sos., in the Pusinfo Seminar. Fikri discussed a lot about online databases that students can access.
The next session is the Study Program Seminar which divides students into 4 breakout rooms according to their study program. The chairperson and secretary of each study program fill this seminar. The event continued with a Mental Health Seminar among New Students by representatives from the Makara UI Clinic. The first day of PSAF was closed with a Radicalism Prevention Seminar for Higher Education Students by the Special Anti-Terrorism Detachment 88.
The second day of PSAF was opened with a seminar by Dr. Lidwina Inge Nurtjahyo, S.H., M.Si, regarding sexual violence on campus. The second seminar was delivered by Amalia Kuswarjanti, S.K.M., Coordinator of the FPH UI Academic Subunit, who explained the Socialization of SIAK-NG. The event was continued with a Proud to be Public Health Seminar by dr. Agustin Kusumayati, M.Sc., Ph.D., and Higher Education Tri Dharma Seminar by Raynal Musfiel Vik Rachmat. The PSAF series was closed with a spiritual session according to each religion.
By organizing this PSAF activity, FPH UI 2022 students will better understand the environment and academic system of FPH UI. (WR)
