Arry Yuswandi, S.KM, M.KM
Arry Yuswandi is the Head of Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Sumatera Barat (West Sumatera Provincial Health Office). He was inaugurated on September 2020 by the Governor of Provinsi Sumatera Barat (West Sumatera Province), Irwan Prayitno. Dinas Kesehatan Sumatera Barat is the organizer of government affairs and has duties in the health sector. Its functions are to formulate technical health policies, carry out government affairs and public services in the health sector, guiding and facilitating the health sector at the scope of provinces and districts / cities, and a lot more duties assigned by the Governor.
Arry Yuswandi received his Bachelor of Science degree in Epidemiology from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia on 1997. In order to earn his bachelor’s degree, he wrote a thesis called “Program Deteksi Dini Kanker Serviks pada dua Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat di DKI Jakarta” that translates to “Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program at two Non-Governmental Organizations in DKI Jakarta” in English. He also received his master’s degree in Epidemiology from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia several years later.
Before becoming the Head of Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Sumatera Barat, he first became the Secretary of Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Sumatera Barat. He served in that position until mid-2020 before being appointed as Pelaksana Tugas Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Sumatera Barat (Caretaker of West Sumatera Provincial Health Office). After completing administrative paperwork and passing several tests, he was finally appointed as the Head of Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Sumatera Barat (West Sumatera Provincial Health Office) on September 4th, 2020.
