The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) is the co-organizer and venue for the Annual Scientific Forum (FIT) of the Association of Indonesian Public Health Experts (IAKMI) IX on 10 – 12 November 2023. This forum has the theme “Strengthening Commitment National Leader in Transforming the National Health System.”
The condition of the COVID-19 pandemic has made all people aware that Indonesia’s current health system still needs to be improved. Therefore, the government through the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Central Indonesia is undergoing a transformation of the national health system. Where the six pillars of health system transformation consisting of primary care, referral services, health resilience system, financing management, health technology and HR transformation require strong commitment from various parties to make it happen.
Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., said that the themes raised in FIT IAKMI IX were very relevant to strategic national health issues. “As an independent and multidisciplinary community organization, IAKMI seeks to improve the level of public health and develop strategic partnerships with the government in an effort to achieve the highest level of health with the hope of creating very meaningful innovations and breakthroughs in supporting government programs,” said the Dean FPH UI in his speech.
IAKMI also raised important issues in a series of forum discussions regarding issues of health system transformation, development of health human resources, the urgency of a digital public health curriculum for health workers, health service equity, and stunting prevention.
FPH UI is proud to be able to collaborate in holding FIT IX IAKMI this year as a place to exchange ideas, ideas, insights, and innovations from public health experts. “We are grateful and proud to be able to collaborate. “Hopefully this forum can be effective as a place to share knowledge and ideas and discuss many things to support the implementation of the transformation of the national health system,” concluded Prof. Mondastri.
Also attending the series of FIT IAKMI IX events were the Chairman of Commission IX DPR RI, Emmanuel Melkiades Laka Lena, S.Si., Apt.; DPR RI Health Caucus, Dr. Suir Syam M. Kes., MMR.; Chairman of AIPTKMI, Prof. Asnawi Abdullah, BSc.PH., MHSM., MSc.HPPF., DLSHTM., Ph.D.; General Chairperson of PP IAKMI, Dedi Supratman, S.K.M., M.K.M; University Secretary, University of Indonesia, dr. Agustin Kusumayati, M.Sc., Ph.D.; as well as various expert speakers.
The IAKMI Annual Scientific Forum is an annual agenda as a vehicle for scientific discussion and sharing research results/experiences of practitioners and public health observers from academics, executive, legislative, private sector and all IAKMI members in the country. It is hoped that this forum will be the best momentum to evaluate and strengthen the development of Public Health Science in Indonesia. (wrk)
