Journal of Public Health has achieved another important step, starting from November 2023, Journal of Public Health, the journal of the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) has succeeded in achieving a Scopus Q3 ranking from the previous Scopus Q4 since 2019. Apart from increasing this quartile, Public Health also is now indexed by Web of Science with a Journal Impact Factor of 0.7, which further strengthens Public Health’s position as a scientific journal with international reputation.
This performance achievement was accompanied by a rebranding of Public Health which included restructuring the editor and transformation of journal governance, as well as migrating the electronic system from the Open Journal System (OJS) to Digital Commons in order to improve the quality of service for academics/researchers/practitioners in the field of public health, both at home and abroad. , to publish his best scientific work in the Public Health journal.
“By getting better in this quartile ranking, it is hoped that the Public Health Journal can further disseminate quality study/research results so that it can become the main reference source for academics, practitioners and policy makers,” said Prof. Doni Hikmat Ramdhan, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D., Research and Community Service Manager, FPH UI.
The editor-in-chief of the Public Health Journal is currently held by Dr. Al Asyary Upe, S.K.M., M.P.H., and strengthened by 18 members of the International Editor Board from various universities at home and abroad.
The Public Health Journal was first published in August 2006 with the title Public Health: National Public Health Journal, which later became the National Public Health Journal as a translation. Journal of Public Health has been accredited by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education for the periods 2009-2012, 2012-2017, and 2017-2021. Journal of Public Health has also been accredited by Sinta-1 since 2020 (No. 85/M/KPT/2020) and is also indexed by Scopus for articles published starting in 2016. Journal of Public Health is published every three months in February, May, August, and November.
Journal of Public Health is about public health as a scientific discipline and practice related to preventive and promotive actions to improve public health through a scientific approach that applies various techniques. This focus includes areas and coverage such as biostatistics, epidemiology, health education and promotion, health policy and administration, environmental health, public health nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, and occupational health and safety.
At FPH UI there are currently 10 journals established, namely Public Health: National Public Health Journal (National Public Health Journal), Journal of Health Economics (JEKI), Journal of Indonesian Health Policy and Administration (IHPA), Indonesian Journal of Health Epidemiology (EpidKes), Behavior and Health Promotion: Indonesian Journal of Health, Promotion and Behavior, Indonesian Journal of Public Health Nutrition (IJPHN), (BIKFOKES) Journal of Biostatistics, Population Studies, and Health Informatics, Indonesian Journal on Hospital Administration, National Journal of Occupational Health and Safety , and the National Journal of Global Environmental Health.
