FPH UI Explores Collaboration with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, University of Washington

The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) is strengthening its steps on the global stage. On Monday, 3 July 2023, FPH UI again held a meeting to explore international cooperation with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). IHME is an independent global health research center located at the University of Washington.

Held in Room PA209 RIK UI Building, apart from introducing the institutional profiles of each party, this meeting also aimed to discuss opportunities for cooperation between FPH UI, the UI Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), as well as UI in general and IHME in terms of research and training.

“The Biostatistics Department of FPH UI wants to work together with IHME, especially in the field of research because with the resources or tools it has, IHME can provide support and even teach the FPH UI community to be able to get the latest data on the global health picture,” said Prof. Dr. drg. Indang Trihandini, M. Kes.

This was welcomed by Prof. Ali Mokdad from IHME. Prof. Ali said that IHME would be very happy if FPH and other faculties at UI could become collaborators at IHME. Through this collaboration, IHME will be able to provide support in research using various tools.
