The Undergraduate Nutrition Study Program, Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) has inaugurated a nutrition/lactation consultation health room. KOZI or Nutrition Consultation Service, has been around since October 2022 and was officially opened by the General Manager of FPH UI, Dr. Martya Rahmaniati M., S.Si., M.Si.
Increasing problems arising from the epidemiological transition in the field of nutrition, the rapid growth of the food industry, the number and demand for the quality of nutrition and food service institutions, the increasing prevalence of both infectious and degenerative diseases rooted in malnutrition since pregnancy, and the emergence of the problem of obesity since childhood. Early childhood causes a variety of nutritional problems to increase. To meet the needs and answer these various nutritional challenges, as a form of community service from students and staff of the Nutrition Department of FPH UI, this Nutrition Consultation Service or KOZI is here.
Another purpose of the establishment of KOZI apart from being a form of dedication in terms of nutritional consulting services is to improve student skills in providing education and counseling for clients, applying knowledge especially in the field of dietetics, and encouraging and assisting the community in preventing PTM (Non-Communicable Diseases), and maintaining clean and healthy lifestyle.
“Starting from KOZI, it is hoped that it can continue with the addition of service facilities and frequency of services and can be an opportunity for benefits for client health and nutrition,” said Dr. Ir. Diah Mulyawati Utari, M.Kes., Head of the FPH UI Nutrition Study Program.
The KOZI service is free of charge and is open every Tuesday and Thursday at 11.00 – 13.00 WIB in the Nutrition/Lactation Consultation Health Room, Building A, FPH UI. (AHS)
