Tuesday, December 13, 2022, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) again received a study visit from the Ibnu Abbas Klaten IT High School. The visit, which was received at the Doctoral Promotion Room, Building G, FPH UI, was attended by 89 male students from Ibnu Abbas IT High School. Present as a guest speaker from FPH UI was the Academic Manager, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M.; Head of the Undergraduate Nutrition Study Program, Dr. Ir. Diah Mulyawati Utari, M. Kes.; and Secretary of the Environmental Health Study Program, Dr. Al Asyary, S.K.M., M.P.H.
This study visit aims to provide students with an understanding regarding the science of FPH UI and the selection of new student admissions. Doctor Laila Fitria gave presentation material in accordance with the desired purpose of the visit. The material presented included a general introduction to FPH UI including the study programs and departments within it, explanations related to public health science, learning curriculum, competencies, and graduate job prospects as well as entry points for prospective new student admissions at UI.
In addition to general profile material, Dr. Diah delivered material regarding the FPH UI Undergraduate Nutrition Study Program. It was stated that the Undergraduate Nutrition Study Program at FPH UI aims to produce undergraduate graduates who can scientifically develop individual, group and community nutrition services through cross-program and cross-sector collaboration oriented to professional ethics. In his presentation, Dr. Diah also conveyed the current issues of nutrition problems being faced.
Meanwhile, dr. Al Asyary delivered material about the Environmental Health Study Program. On the material, Dr. Al Asyary presented many environmental health issues, one of which was food safety. “Food safety or food safety is a science that discusses the preparation, handling, and storage of food or drink so that it is not contaminated by chemical, physical or biological substances,” explained Dr. Al Ashary.
FPH UI hopes that by carrying out this study visit it can help students and teachers understand more about public health science and make it easier for prospective students to determine the choice of majors in tertiary institutions later. (wrk)
