On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) attended an online invitation from the Universitas Indonesia Hospital (RSUI). The meeting was held with the aim of discussing collaboration between FPH UI and UI Hospital.
Present from FPH UI at the meeting were the Dean, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc.; Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc.; Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration, Dr. Milla Herdayati, S.K.M., M.Sc.; Managers and Deputy General Managers. Meanwhile, from UI Hospital, the Director of Finance, Wibowo, S.E., Ak., and HR Manager, Dini Trisno were present.
As a teaching hospital, UI Hospital has a mission to provide comprehensive health services, provide comprehensive inter-professional education in the health sector, develop an integrated clinical research education center and organize professional and accountable management, and be able to achieve financial independence. In line with this mission, UI Hospital wants to collaborate with FPH UI in various fields according to this mission. “We want this UI Hospital not only to provide health services but also to organize a good teaching hospital. Where this relates to the faculties in the UI health sciences cluster, one of which is FPH UI. Through this collaboration that we propose, we hope that the education process will be easier, especially for FPH UI and UI Hospital,” said the Finance Director of UI Hospital, Wibowo, S.e., Ak., opening the discussion.
Several points of cooperation or collaboration proposed by RSUI to FPH UI are education programs such as internships for FPH UI students, preventive programs for health education that deal directly with students, input related to UI Hospital services especially from internal users, FPH UI research collaboration with UI Hospital, as well as the desire to become a health service provider for FPH UI residents.
The Dean of FPH UI welcomed the collaboration invitation from UI Hospital. “We will look for things that can be elaborated for this collaboration that can meet RSUI’s expectations, so that later we can collaborate more intensely. There are also quite a lot of FPH needs in terms of Higher Education’s Tri Dharma, one of which is apprenticeship as mentioned in the collaboration point earlier. This is very important to us. The contact between public health and clinical practice is actually very high, so I think there are many things that we can explore together,” said the Dean of FPH UI, welcoming the discussion on collaboration with UI Hospital.
Through the collaboration that will be carried out by both parties, it is hoped that new ideas will emerge that can benefit both FPH UI and UI Hospital. (wrk)
