FPH UI student’s never stop making achievements, both nationally and internationally. Nadya Putri, a 2019 Regular Undergraduate student of the Occupational Health and Safety Study Program, was selected to be a participant in the 2022 Asian Students Environment Platform (ASEP 2022).
ASEP 2022 accommodates students from various universities in all countries on the Asian continent to learn about the differences in the natural environment. Then the values of each country and engage in transnational discussions about the global environment to grow talented individuals in the environmental field who will develop on the global stage.
ASEP 2022 has the theme “SATOYAMA, Our Future COMMONS” in collaboration with Waseda University and AEON Environmental Foundation. This activity will be carried out online on 2 – 4 August 2022, and selected participants will be given a full scholarship.
The selected participants have passed the file selection process and met the following requirements.
Active UI students at least in the third semester (undergraduate) and at least in the second semester (postgraduate), come from majors studying environmental scope, have a minimum GPA of 3.2, have TOEFL/IELTS (minimum 550/6.0), faculty recommendation letter, CV, and motivation letter.
Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs FPH UI, Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc., expressed his great appreciation for this opportunity. “The opportunity for students to be involved in a global scale event is very good and supports the efforts of the Universitas Indonesia. In the future, we hope that there will be more opportunities for students and more students will contribute to improving environmental problems,”said Dr. Asih.
In line with the expectations of the Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Nadya expressed her motivation. “By realizing that as a young generation they must play an active role in overcoming global environmental issues and the presence of this activity can facilitate students to take first steps to contribute to improving environmental problems both in Indonesia and globally,” said Nadia.
This activity will involve students from 10 countries in Asia to discuss and create designs on cross-country global environmental issues as well as comprehensive policy recommendations.
Nadya hopes that by participating in this activity, she can add to the network of cross-country relations and share experiences, ideas, and new perspectives regarding global environmental issues to provide innovation in solving environmental problems in Indonesia.
