Widyastuti is the Head of Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi DKI Jakarta (DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office). She was inaugurated on January 2019 by the Governor of Provinsi DKI Jakarta (DKI Jakarta Province), Anies Baswedan. Dinas Kesehatan DKI Jakarta is the organizer of government affairs and has duties in the health sector. Its vision is to create Jakarta as a developed, sustainable, and cultured city whose citizens are involved in realizing civilization, justice, and prosperity for all. As the Head of Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi DKI Jakarta, she is under and responsible to report to the Governor of Provinsi DKI Jakarta through the Regional Secretary.
Widyastuti graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and started her career as a medical doctor. Years after her graduation, she enlisted to become a Pegawai Negeri Sipil (Civil Servant) and continue her study at the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia from where she obtained her Master of Public Health degree on 2006. After completing her study, she became the Section Head of Outbreaks and Surveillance at the Pusat Pengendali Operasional Dukungan Kesehatan DKI Jakarta (DKI Jakarta’s Health Support Operational Control Center).
She continues her endeavor in the health field until recently on January 2019 where she was chosen to become the Head of Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi DKI Jakarta (DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office). She was chosen among seven other candidates whose competing for the position through job auction selection and was inaugurated by the Governor of Provinsi DKI Jakarta himself. On 2021, Widyastuti along with her colleagues at the Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi DKI Jakarta was involved in the writing of a scientific paper in collaboration with a team of researchers from the Eijkman-Oxford Clinical Research Unit to study the clinical characteristics and deaths related to the COVID-19 in-patients who were hospitalized at all COVID-19 referral hospitals in DKI Jakarta.
