The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) hosted the Regional Meeting of the Association of Indonesian Public Health Higher Education Institutions (AIPTKMI) DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. This meeting was attended by institutional leaders from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Respati Indonesia, Faculty of Medicine and Health, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta, Faculty of Health, Esa Unggul University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Jakarta, and 28 other universities. The main purpose of holding these meetings is to strengthen coordination among institutions that are members of the Regional AIPTKMI DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten.
The event was opened with remarks by the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc. “All public health higher education institutions in Indonesia must collaborate and synergize to achieve the same big goal. Hopefully, holding these meetings can strengthen our spirit and synergy in collaborating,” said Prof. Mondastri in his speech. Furthermore, the Head of Regional AIPTKMI, Prof. Dr. dr. Sabarinah Prasetyo, M.Sc., also gave a speech. “I believe that our region (DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten) will have many opportunities to advance together,” said Prof. Be patient.
This meeting has three main agendas. First, Dien Anshari, S.Sos., M.Sc., Ph.D., Student Manager of FPH UI explained material related to public health branding in Indonesia. It was stated that the public health sector became more known to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic. This can be used to attract the interest of prospective students. In addition to discussing public health branding, the issue of one health was also discussed. The discussion on the one health issue began with a presentation by Prof. dr. Agus Suwandono, M.P.H., Dr.PH., Coordinator of Indonesia One Health University Network (INDOHUN). Prof. Agus explained that the threat to health due to zoonoses in the future will be more severe. Therefore, a one health approach is needed in dealing with it. The meeting was closed with the last agenda, namely reading the organizational structure of the Regional AIPTKMI and a brief discussion on the work program of each field. This meeting is expected to strengthen coordination and collaboration between public health higher education in Indonesia. (WR)
