Monday, August 29, 2022, the Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia (FPH UI) received a visit from the RMIT University Australia School of Science, represented by Associate Prof. Asgar Farahnaky. The purpose of this meeting is to explore the possibility of cooperation in teaching (credit arrangement) and research in the field of food science and technology. The meeting was held offline at Building A of the UI Health Sciences Cluster (RIK) and was attended by the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri K. Sudaryo, MS., D.Sc.; Vice Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc.; Manager of Cooperation, Alumni Relations and Ventures, Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D.; Manager of Research and Community Service, Doni Hikmat Ramdhan, S.KM., MKKK., Ph.D.; Head and Secretary of the Department of Nutrition, Chair and Secretary of the Department of Environmental Health, as well as several other stakeholders.
The Dean and staff warmly welcomed this opportunity. “This meeting is a good moment for us to discuss what things we can achieve together in the field of food and nutrition,” said Prof. Mondastri. Prof. Asgar Farahnaky gave a brief presentation related to RMIT University, especially those related to food science and technology. RMIT University itself already has qualified research and technology in the food sector. “Nutrition and food cannot be separated from health. RMIT University and FPH UI can collaborate on this,” said Prof. Asgar at the end of his presentation.
Furthermore, Prof. Asgar and the Department of Nutrition and the Department of Environmental Health FPH UI discussed the potential for cooperation in the near future. “For now, maybe we can collaborate in terms of research and lectures for students,” said Dr. Ir. Asih at the end of the discussion.
This meeting is a good step for FPH UI to strengthen cooperation with international parties. It is hoped that the collaboration between the two parties will run smoothly and have a positive impact on FPH UI and RMIT University Australia. (WR)
